The Scottish Government and Scottish Public Sector organisations can join.
By joining the cloud platform you'll get access to:
- a pay-as-you-go service
- identity and access management
- a service in line with Scottish Government and industry standards
- existing contracts and discounts
Features of the cloud platform
On the cloud platform you’ll benefit from a range of features for:
- customer environment set up
- security
- infrastructure
The cloud platform aligns with a range of security standards and bodies including:
- Cloud Service Alliance Security, Trust & Assurance Registry (CSA STAR)
- Cloud security Cloud Controls Matrix (CCM)
- Centre for Internet Security (CIS)
Your responsibilities
As a member of the Scottish Government’s cloud platform, you’re still responsible for your own area. This includes responsibilities like getting set up and risk and security management.
Costs
You’ll have some initial costs to cover if you’re starting out in cloud, or if you’re moving existing workloads.
These costs include:
- dedicated time for staff to work on the cloud platform
- licences for any software tools your team will need to build in cloud
You'll also have to think about costs for running your old service while you’re:
- setting up in cloud
- shutting down your old service
Join the cloud platform
If you want to join the platform, you should complete and submit the cloud platform enquiry form.
The cloud platform team will get in touch within 5 days to discuss what you need. If you need help to complete the form, email cloud1st@gov.scot.
